Fried Ice Cream Topping

This is a fairly simple to make topping that tastes just like fried ice cream, but takes less than 15 minutes to make. It is addicting so don't expect it to last long!

6 cups corn flakes
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or foil. Lightly crush the cornflakes in a ziplock bag and spread out on cookie sheet.

In a small saucepan melt remaining ingredients over medium heat. bring to biol and boil for 3 minutes stirring constantly. Remove from heat and drizzle over corn flakes. Toss lightly to coat lakes and spread out evenly. Bake for 3 to 6 minutes until lightly brown. Cool and break into small chunks. Store in air tight container.

To serve just sprinkle it over ice cream or just eat it out of the jar...

Package it in a pretty jar and it make a quick, easy, and inexpensive gift!
